Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)
What is the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program or FMNP?
The FMNP provides WIC participants over the age of 6 months with a coupon booklet valued at a total of $30, to buy fresh, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs (not potted or planted) at approved farmers’ markets. Coupons must be used by October 31 each year.
How to use the Coupons
- At WIC FMNP approved farmers’ markets, find farmers with the FMNP stall sign.
- Choose from local fresh fruits, vegetables, and/or cut herbs available. See the list of approved foods.
- Pay with coupon(s) to cover cost of the approved foods. Each coupon is worth $5. No change will be given.
- If the total is more than the coupon(s), pay the difference with another
form of payment. - If you have any questions, contact the on-site market manager or your WIC clinic.
