FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: COLORADO WIC CLINICS OPEN, BENEFITS AVAILABLE
[Updated 10/22/2025]
Colorado WIC clinics are open, and benefits are currently available, despite the federal government shutdown. The State of Colorado acted quickly to temporarily fund WIC so the program can continue through at least October 2025.
Keep using your eWIC card to buy WIC-approved foods as usual and continue attending your WIC appointments as scheduled.
Looking Ahead
This situation is the result of the ongoing federal government shutdown, and it is affecting WIC programs nationwide. The state is actively exploring whether there are any temporary solutions to lessen the impact here in Colorado. We will share updates as soon as they are available.
Important Note about SNAP
WIC and SNAP (food assistance) are separate programs, though many families participate in both. Please visit cdhs.colorado.gov/snap for updates on SNAP funding and benefit availability.
