Colorado WIC Data Dashboard

Dashboard Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What data is in the dashboard and how can I use it?

What data is in the dashboard and how can I use it?

The dashboard displays enrollment numbers, meaning all individuals that are enrolled on the WIC program in a given month, regardless of whether or not they have received benefits for that month.

The dashboard contains data since January of 2019 and will be updated every month. Therefore, it can be used to monitor trends in WIC enrollment over time and understand more about current WIC clients in Colorado. Data from 2018 is available upon request.

Why is there not very much data available for small counties?

WIC cannot share personally identifiable information (PII) for any WIC clients. In small counties, certain characteristics (race/ethnicity, age, spoken language, etc) may become identifiable. Therefore, if there are less than 20 individuals with a given characteristic in any county, the data is suppressed. As noted on the dashboard, if there is no data available, that indicates that there is either no clients with that characteristic in the county or that there are less than 20 clients.

If I want other WIC data that is not on the dashboard, who should I talk to?

WIC cannot share personally identifiable information (PII) for any WIC clients. However, if you are interested in aggregated data that is not currently available on this dashboard, please reach out to us at [email protected].
